python3-astropy software package provides Core functionality for performing astrophysics with Python3, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python3-astropy
python3-astropy is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python3-astropy package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python3-astropy *
You will get with python3-astropy package name, version, architecture and description in a table
